What is a reading and how does it work?

  • A reading is an opportunity to really understand your animal and create a better relationship with them. It is a conversation between you, me and your animals. I work with all types of animals in person or over the phone (from a photo). I don't ask them a set list of questions. Every reading is unique, just like your animal.

  • Animals think in pictures and emotions. I am able to interpret that information and translate it into words. I can ask them questions and pass that information on to you. I mostly work with dogs, cats and horses, but have worked with about every type of animal that someone loves. I also work with animals that have passed on, either recently or many years ago.

  • I can help you understand your animals’ health and behavior and work with you to find the most effective way to make positive changes. Some challenges are corrected after one reading, others may take more time.

What are some questions I can ask?

  • You can ask your animal anything. Some topics might include:  health issues, what their life was like before they came to you or how they understand their relationships with other people and animals. I also work with many types of behavioral challenges and can help you understand what they are doing from their point of view. Of course you will have your own questions for your animal.

  • I do muscle testing on food and supplements to help you determine the best diet for your individual animal. This is especially useful if they have food intolerances/allergies.

What type of reading is best?

  • Phone readings are a quick and easy way to get some essential information about your animal. They are particularly useful for health related issues or end of life questions. Readings are $45 for each half-hour. There is no extra charge for additional animals, but each needs a minimum of ten to fifteen minutes. Some animals have more issues than others and need more time. Please schedule enough time to get all of your questions answered. You are welcome to record the reading or put it on speaker so others can be involved.

  • You will be participating in the reading and this is a time to give your animal companions your full attention.  If you can be with your animals during the phone reading, try to be in a quiet place where you won't be disturbed.  If you can’t be with them, it is helpful if you are looking at the same photos that you sent me. I will work with one animal at a time. Sometimes readings (especially for animals that have passed on) can be very emotional, so be prepared for this.

  • Home readings are most effective for changing behaviors or working through relationship issues. I help you develop a strategy to improve the situation and make lasting changes. Readings are $100 in the Salt Lake metro area ($125 for Ogden, Provo and Park City) and are for about an hour and a half. Other family members are welcome to participate and you can record the reading if you like.

  • If you are not in Utah and want a home reading, please contact me. I love to do fund raising events for animal rescue groups and maybe we can set something up in your area.

What kind of pictures can I send?

  • You can upload pictures on the form located on the Contact page. If you can’t send a picture through email, contact me and we can arrange for you to send a color photocopy. If you want to know about your animal’s relationship with other animals, please send pictures of all involved. Recent photos work best, especially if you are asking about health concerns.

  • It is okay if there are other people or animals in the picture. A picture that shows the animal’s face and most of their body is ideal, but I can work with just about anything. Relaxed, at-home pictures are fine, but if all you have is a posed picture (like a Santa photo) that will work, too.

  • Please upload pictures on the Schedule a Reading page. I need to receive the pictures before the scheduled time for the reading.

How do I prepare for a reading with my animals?

  • Please make a list of your questions before either a phone or home reading. I don't need the list in advance; it is more for you so you don't forget ask something. Have your questions ready during the reading.

  • A reading is a time to give your animal your undivided attention. Other people can attend the reading (either by putting a phone reading on speaker or being present for a home reading) but try to limit distractions as much as possible.

  • You don’t have to be with your animals during a phone reading, but it is helpful if we are looking at the same photos.

  • Sometimes readings are quite emotional. Be prepared for that. You may need to take some time for yourself.

How do I pay?

  • After a phone reading, I will send you PayPal invoice. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by credit card. If you would prefer to not pay electronically, please let me know and I will give you the information to pay by check.

  • If a phone reading goes over by more than a few minutes, I will charge you for an additional 15 minutes ($22.50).

  • Home readings are payable by cash or check.

  • Gift certificates are available. Please contact me.

Do you work with lost animals?

I do not work with lost or missing animals. If you your animal is lost, contact your local animal shelter and rescue agencies. Give them a detailed description , including age, size, sex, and any distinctive traits. Make a flier with the best picture you have. Make a digital version of your flyer and send it to your email list and post it on social media sites. Be sure to include some contact phone numbers. Contact your veterinarian and microchip company. Most importantly, don't give up. Keep visiting your local agencies at least twice a week and look at every animal that is about the same size as yours, regardless of how they are described. Emotionally send your love to your animal and visualize a golden cord running from your heart to theirs. Tell them that you love them and that they can follow the cord back to you.

End of life.

  • At some point, all animal lovers will be parted from their friends. I have helped many people during the end of life process with their animals. It is essential to understand how they feel physically and emotionally and to know when to say good bye. I can help you make decisions to maximize the quality of their remaining time.

  • I also do grief counseling for people after an animal has passed on. It can be devastating to lose an animal and it is helpful to talk to someone who really understands what you are feeling. It is important to understand how their passing affects you and the other animals in the home. Grief is a tricky emotion and it can linger for years after losing a beloved animal. Death ends a life, but it doesn’t end the relationship. Love continues forever. Many people wonder if they did the right thing by euthanizing an animal. I can help you sort out the intense emotions either before or after your animals’ death. Many clients report feeling much more at peace after a reading.

In addition to doing home visits and phone readings, I also do fundraising events for animal rescue organizations and other special events. I teach Animal Communication classes through Lifelong Learning at the University of Utah as well as private classes. If you are interested in an event or class, please contact me.

Please Note: Psychic advice is not a substitute for veterinary treatment. If your animal is sick or injured, please take them to an emergency clinic.
